REPper Project

Project Description

The REPper project aims to emphasize the wideness of repair sector’s horizons and the effectiveness of a systemic and cross-sectoral approach, to build innovation and trigger a deep cultural change in our life. The REPper project revolves around the idea that this change is possible and wants to contribute towards its achievement.

The novelty of this project is precisely the multidisciplinary nature of the approach which we have

defined as “closed loop”, borrowing the term from marketing and circular economy. By adopting this methodology, we want to assess the results of the behavior change campaign not only in terms of consumer engaged, but also through the entrepreneurial projects supported and the feedback of the training offered. And, at the same time, increase the spread of the repair culture through new startups and best practices. A culture that seeks to reduce the existing gap by intervening on each phase of the value chain, modifying habits and attitudes through nudging strategies.

First of all, the project will tackle a preliminary stage through a local/territorial mapping: REPper aims at capitalizing past and ongoing projects’ data and practices to analyze partnership territories by verifying the existing realities and testing market’s needs and shortcomings. At the same time, the gap analysis will help pinpoint areas on which to undertake priority action. The results of the local mapping will be shared and implemented transnationally to model a common response.

The REPper Hubs network is a transnational set of different, flexible and adaptable services

dedicated to the repair culture. Through this multi-centered reality, the project will allow to create SMEs in the repair sector that incorporate sustainable principles already in the business plan phase.

 Project’ pillar activities:

  • REPper Hubs network

The aim of this activity is to create a transnational network of REPper Hubs, addressed to boost repair economy, and that will continue to work after project conclusion. They will provide in particular support to SMEs and new business ideas. A hub will be set and

implemented in each involved region, starting from a common methodology and feasibility studies.

  • REPper Factory – Capacity building of professionals

Development of a Transnational REPper Factory framework, including a skills and competences portfolios and syllabus. The aim is to pave the way to incorporate repair and circular economy approach into local vocational training circuit and curricula.

  • Changing consumer behavior making repair choice more appealing

Nudging can be a valuable means to influence behavior in educational contexts, particularly in technical schools, with the aim of raising awareness on the repair attitude.
