15-16 May, the Popri international business ideas competition

Also this year, Auleda – Local Economic Development Agency, participated in the Popri international business ideas competition, which took place in the city of Sibenik in Croatia on May 15-16. This was the fourth year of the competition, which is organized within the EUSAIR Adriatic-Ionian forum.

On the first day of the event, May 15, the young people had the opportunity to meet successful entrepreneurs, who shared their stories and answered the questions of the young people.
During the second day, 8 teams in the category of high school students aged 14-18 and 10 teams of university students or graduates aged 19-29 from the Adriatic-Ionian region competed with their entrepreneurial ideas.
Many innovative ideas were presented before a professional jury, showing the commitment of young people to build businesses that aim to provide solutions, improving the life of society in the Adriatic-Ionian region.

The startups presented included the use of renewable materials, ecological toys, health services, healthy food products, advanced technology services and other innovative ways.
Auleda – Local Economic Development Agency was duly presented with two groups of two categories. The girls of the “DigiDoc” group, Irisi and Steisi, from the city of Korça, presented their start-up which aims to improve the provision of health services and the management of patients’ health data. Through a platform and their programming skills, the group aims to offer a new service for the Albanian market but not only. Kleo, from the city of Elbasan, with his startup “Switch Technologies”, presented the objective and work of Switch in turning the city of Elbasan into a hub of programmers.
We are happy to have the opportunity to promote talented young people who, with the right support, can become an important asset to society. Above all, especially in this difficult period for the region which is deeply affected by the “brain drain” phenomenon, the focus on youth is an urgent necessity.

We thank the organizer and our main partner Primorski technological park, and all other partners from the countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region. Also, we thank the Municipality of Korça for the support.
