September 20, 2023In the “Old Pottery” Restaurant — On June 6, 2023, in Kavajë, near the premises of this restaurant, the “Information Day of the Routes4Culture project” was organized, which is being implemented within the “EU4Culture” project, financed by the European Union (EU) and implemented by UNOPS, in close partnership with the Ministry of Culture.
The information day was organized as a combination of activities, with the aim of promoting the cultural values of the area and sharing traditional and cultural experiences. In cooperation with the “Culture without Borders” Association, books specially designed for children, including the age group of 10-12 years, were distributed. Here, the children focused on the cultural monuments of Kavaja, and developed a new love for the culture and history of their city.
One of the most special moments was the “Little Potters” activity, which was offered by the Pottery Master, Grigor Kostrista, who introduced the children to the techniques of making pots and the history of the Former Ceramics Company in Kavaja. The children were inspired to learn more about the carefully cultivated traditional and cultural values of their city.
In the information session, Auleda and the Association “Culture without Borders” presented new tourism projects developed in the areas of Kavaja and Rrogozhina to the participants, including businesses, local government representatives, and local artisans. Discussions focused on the organization of a festival in Bashtova and the reconstruction of Bashtova Castle, with the aim of promoting tourism in the Kavaja area.
The information day continued with a classical concert based on traditional music “Pjalm i Këngës Albanian in Poceria e Vjetër”. The well-known soprano Ramona Tullumani, the pianist Ardita Bufaj and the violinist Lorenc Radovani performed with passion and emotion, giving the evening a wonderful atmosphere accompanied by the applause of the public.
The event was closed with a tasting of local products offered by the “Old Pottery” Restaurant and the “Belba” Wine Cellar. This was a perfect end to a busy day promoting the culture and rich cultural values of Kavaja. The Routes4Culture project continues to bring new spirit and enthusiasm to this area rich in history and tradition.
